Katrina McKelvey - Children's AuthorWelcome friends, family, colleagues, teachers, librarians, book enthusiasts, and stickybeaks.

I am a children’s author, wife, and mum in no particular order. I perform these jobs simultaneously and I love them all!

Picture books are my favourite books. I love how the words and pictures share a special bond – one is meaningless without the other. Together, they weave magic as they take the reader on a special journey.

My website has been designed so you can learn about me. My biography page is full of quirky facts – maybe I should have kept some of them a secret. Shhh! My books page is constantly changing which is a lovely thing. My appearances page is one of my favourite pages. I love getting out and about to meet children, educators and the community. I wonder where I’ll be next? The gallery page is full of photos of other children’s authors and illustrators I have met during my writing journey. You can follow my journey to publication and beyond by reading my blog or by visiting my Facebook page. The resources page is full of websites I use regularly to gather information about books and writing.

If you're ever in Newcastle, feel free to let me know so we can share a pot of tea in a local café – my favourite thing to do (when I’m not writing of course).
